POP3 email settings for Verizon users

Accessing Email from your Domains with your ISP
If you have POP3 email accounts with your own domain, with some ISP's you retrieve your email using your domain's incoming mail server, and you send email using your ISPs outgoing mail server.

incoming: mail.yourdomain.com
outgoing: outgoing.verizon.net (this is smtp.comcast.net if your ISP is Comcast)
Please call Verizon to verify SMTP settings if you are having any connection problems.

Outlook Setup

  1. Open Outlook
  2. On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts
  3. Click View or change existing e-mail accounts
  4. Select your email account
  5. Click Change
  6. Click More Settings
  7. Click the Advanced tab
  8. View the Outgoing mail (SMTP) Port and change it to 587 and save.

Authenticate your Verizon Account Name and Password

Go to Tools - Accounts
Click on the "Mail" tab
Click on your account then on the "Properties" button
Click on the "Server" tab
At the bottom, check the "My Server Requires Authentication" box
Click the "Settings" button
Click the "Log On Using" radio button
Enter your VERIZON ACCOUNT NAME AND PASSWORD here
Click Ok, Ok, Close

How To Change Outlook Settings for Verizon Users

  1. Open Outlook or Outlook Express and Go to Tools – Account Settings
  2. Click on the email address and select “Change Settings” and follow screen shots below.
  3. After you make the changes, click on save or OK and save your settings.
