AOL Blocks SMTP (outgoing email) port 25

If you are using AOL as your ISP to connect to Internet, you may have problem sending emails using Port 25. AOL has started blocking your SMTP outgoing email port # 25. You can change your SMTP port from 25 to 587 in order to send emails.

Outlook Express

1. Open Outlook Express.
2. From the Outlook Express Tools menu, click Accounts
3. Click the Mail tab
4. Select your email account
5. In the Properties dialog box, click the Servers tab
6. Click the Advanced tab
7. View the Outgoing mail (SMTP) Port and change it to 587 and save.

Outlook 2000

1. Open Outlook 2000
2. Click the Tools menu and then click Accounts
3. Select your email account
4. Click Properties
5. In the Properties dialog box, click the Servers tab
6. Click the Advanced tab
7. View the Outgoing mail (SMTP) Port and change it to 587 and save.
